Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is transmitted to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies the response; we do not retain or record those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or other direct message as needed to answer it. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- Device category and operating system
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent
- Referring website, when available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies stored on a device help us understand aggregate use, including popular pages and exit points. Analytics providers assist with that measurement. A browser can reject cookies, although doing so may change how some site features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, maintaining, and improving site performance
- Routing a query to the selected search provider
- Understanding which pages visitors use
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Presenting advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
We do not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of dockets or personal case information. The site explains where Crane County records are kept and how to approach the District Clerk, other local custodians, and re:SearchTX. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party dossiers.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes on this site are powered by outside companies. Anything you enter into those tools is processed under the partner's own privacy policy, not this one. Those partners set their own data-retention and sharing practices, and we do not control them. Review the partner's policy before submitting a search.
Links to Other Websites
Throughout the site we link to clerk of court pages, trial court portals, statewide case-search systems, legal aid groups, and third-party search tools. Clicking any of those links takes you off our site. At that point, their privacy policy governs your visit. Read it before sharing any personal details.
Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
We follow standard security practices to safeguard the data we collect. But nothing connected to the internet is bulletproof. We do what we can to keep your information secure, though we cannot promise a breach will never happen.
Users Under 18
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly gather personal information from anyone under 18. If you think a minor has shared data with us, reach out and we'll delete it right away.
Your Data Rights
Applicable law may provide additional rights concerning personal data. The Texas Public Information Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 552, generally addresses government information; the judiciary is excluded from that Act's ordinary definition of a governmental body. Access to Texas judicial records instead depends on court rules and common law, while Rule 12 of the Texas Rules of Judicial Administration governs judicial administrative records. These public-record rules do not convert this private site into a court custodian. You may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy. Any revision will appear here with an updated effective date, so visitors should review this page periodically.
